BYE BYE MUMBAI

01/03/10 28/02/10
As a final journey, the night of 27 we took an overnight train that left us in the great Mumbai in 8h.
Bad luck we arrived in Mumbai at 5:30 in the morning, we had a reservation at the Oasis Hotel would be effective at 10 am, trying to find an alternative, because despite having slept on the train, we could not stay on the street for 5h. With a friendly taxi driver toured several hotels, with no luck as all were full.
Find room at the Welcome Hotel After traveling nearly all who were near Victoria station that appeared in Lonely Planet, but that if we could dispose of it after 10, we discussed a lot with the receptionist and the room was empty, but there was no way the laws are that you can not have the room until that time in Mumbai.
At 6 am in Mumbai alone there are those who share the newspapers, taxi drivers sleeping on sidewalks, rats and cats, and semi-deserted streets, I with all the courage I took a walk to the Residency Hotel where we had not lucky and the receptionist was closed, I found him sleeping and after banging on the glass door, woke up and told me they were full but I knew a small hotel with 8 rooms was great, called to see if they had room, and I gave a card to contact me, at that time wanted at all costs a great room. I walked into the Capital, which is at the rear entrance of what was once a cinema, the Capitol, which is directly opposite the main entrance to Victoria Station. The hotel room had everything Residency, soaps ...., the bed was as comfortable for all that if 2000INR India in 3200 called Welcome. I went back to look Cathrin Welcome and what my surprise when the receptionist to see us go, we said that now if we can check in here and was when one breaks out, we gave a kind of morality to PUT ... CLERK Traian face 5 am and does not give us room even when empty, but when we go see if you can skip the laws, uuufff ...
The two days passed between markets in Mumbai, and the Holi festival day where the Indians put paint all over my face and where it falls well dance.
The return flight was a delight, sleep around 7am and we only smell of breakfast woke up an hour and a half from London. BA good ...

NORTH GOA

24.25.26.27/02/10

This day changed the south to the north of Goa, in an hour and a half we planted from Canacona Station Tivin Station, and without our fellow travelers in the south and Vanessa Santy flew to Delhi the same day.
From Tivin went to Anjuna to find accommodation, can be found in Henmil's Holiday Homes (+919764437143 - +919922200975 henmil@hotmail.com) an authentic old-room, all new for 500 INR, luxury.
Everything we did as well as in the south, but here it is felt more tourism, many people compared to the rest of India, and the tourist environment, it was expected, but intended to travel after all travel was perfect.
We did all the way from Anjuna, a few days to the north and others south to the north visit Vagator, Morjim, Ashvem, Mandrem, Arambol, Querim all possible beaches, Arambol we are left with is very hippie and the people are authentic, Mandrem Ashvem and they are two super quiet beaches with white sand. Fort Tiracol be visited, but we are left with the strong Rajasthan.
South went to Baga, Calangute, Candolim and Siquerim, all mounted more to the north of Anjuna, a long beach where you put everything together in which there is a large ship stranded.
We also enjoyed the most of the Anjuna Beach.
Goa we liked it overall, tourism is just, and you can find your paradise just doing a few kilometers on the bike.

SOUTH GOA

19.20.21.22.23/02/10
Today after breakfast we said goodbye to Om Beach and the province of Karnataka to explore the south of Goa and its beaches.
The train from Gokarna Rd to Canacona station lasted about 2 hours, and there we were in Goa. We took a rickshaw and went on Patnem Beach Mamo, a quiet beach in the south.
The Star Bar on the beach with his super Buntty waiter served us every day to get in tune with their mega breakfast and dinner, one pass.
The days were passing between southern beaches, the bike is indispensable in the quiet roads of the south, Colomb, Palolem, Agonda, Cola and our beach with no name to which we christened Maki Beach for three days we went was our favorite, clean water, palm trees, a river that flows into it, the Cabo da Rama fort and very few people, the most that we met there, about 10 ... *** paradise
Southern perfect and peaceful Goa, Palolem most tourist purchases only.

GOKARNA

16.17.18/02/10
These three days are summarized easily, after a 7am train arrived at Gokarna Road station, from where a taxi dropped us at Om Beach the beach where we stayed in huts accommodation right beside the beach.
During these 3 days have been between the beach and beach, Kudla, Om, Paradise, Half Moon, on the trails where no motor vehicles arrive, enjoying the sea food, massage, wave and hiding increasingly the sun that strikes with great force.
The weather was standing, without cover, with a very cool tourist who knows what you are looking for a quiet place to unwind, a real *** Gokarna ago

KANNUR

15/02/10
Already in Kannur, moved after trip cost us find a hotel that was not full, but in the end we did with the Haven Inn, which is near the train station where we catch the early morning train to Gokarna.
We went to sleep until the body had enough, we went to eat at a place called Gold Dish which is right next to the bus station and that just over 1 € we got a spectacular meal.
We saw the largest beach in Kannur and went to see one of the rites that make daily in one of the temples. We stop at Kannur only to see the ritual and the truth is it was pretty disappointing, we had more tourists and several hundred Indians, but neither the man nor his henchmen mask impressed us the least, between drumming and dancing we went to the hotel to rest and we had the train to Gokarna at around 5:30 pm

MYSORE

12/02/10
After 2 hours we are taking a room in Mysore Chandra Palace Hotel, which has recommended Kumar to be centrally located and have everything nearby.
We shower and go to nearby markets, vegetables, incense, we see how they crafted and buy at the store a character with endless laughter, it seems we're back in Rajasthan.
We take a rickshaw, and at night to see the illuminated Mysore palace is great, and the lights make the visit even more special, only occurs 3 days a year, and we're just here with thousands of Indians who go to temples palace .
After the palace I shall press, pull Lonely and we will dine at Parklane Hotel, nothing special but the decor of the restaurant, the food is very normal. We will rest tomorrow ...

13/02/10
The day begins in the post, we want to get rid of the coats of feathers, books and trekking shoes, and that from Mysore, it's going to be beach.
We at the bus station where we bought the ticket for the day Kannur 15.
We go to market for the species, fruits, bracelets and more. We look for the Hong Kong Fashion Market, which happens to be a building with stores such seedy Pacorro fakes, Poma, Suny Ericsson, Kelvin Klain, we pass and we will make the visit Mysore Palace inside. We take the audio guide that makes it much easier to understand everything that happened there, the palace is very nice and we enjoyed the visit.
We threw a guide and go to the temple of Chamunda Hill on top of a mountain about 13km from downtown. We take a local bus where we are the only tourists, we reached the temple and rested a bit of heat looking at Mysore from above.
It makes us dinner and planned the next day in a relaxed, zoo, cinema and relax, that at 23:15 h have little trip by bus from 7 am to Kannur.
*** Goodnight

14/02/10
We woke up to feel like zoo, but before the breakfast of dosas hotel, buenisimo.
At the zoo 30 inr pay about 50 € cents, and we are almost 3 hours watching giraffes, birds, tigers, lions, hippos, buffaloes, rhinos, snakes, zoo this luxury.
After the zoo we go through buying movie tickets, because it is Sunday and here in India, cinema is an art and the rooms are filled. 14:30 and we are awaiting the opening box office for tickets. 1h passes until they open, and the jostling get 4 tickets for the session 17h, our film, My Name Is Khan will last 3 hours and is completely in Hindi.
In the rush to eat and go back to the cinema. The film is rustic, but the screen and sound are very good. People cry when they leave the actors known or when something interesting in the film, is another way to enjoy the film. We understand much of the film as there are parties in English, is filmed in USA, is a kind of Forrest Gump Indian music a 10. We loved the experience and laughs we go to dinner, that in a while touching the bus.
At 23:30 h we destined to Kannur, the bus is fine, but when you start jumping on the road, gives us the feeling that no fast pass and we will not sleep at all. Not delivered quickly and getting worse. For a few endless 5h let along a "highway" of a single lane with thousands of holes, does not seem real, in boats that hit the bus we got several inches of the seat to fall back at once, the driver seems to feel nothing and moves on a 10 kmh in the furrows of the road, the initial discomfort about not sleeping we went to the biggest laughs thinking that we will get to Coll Baix or Cala Torta. At 5am the bus makes a stop and the road becomes normal, sleep 2 hours ...
