Have a look on the best experience with Stanley Wilson www.wilsontours.co.in
Good morning, here we are at home with breakfast Wilson has prepared his wife Yasmine, all energy to start a day that seems promising.
The Tata Indigo TDI expects us to take us to Munnar, are at 6:30 pm We started the road stretched in the car with the sunrise on our right, when we leave behind us
Fort Kochi with its bridges. After a few kilometers the landscape begins to make more jungle and the road begins to get uphill. Our first for a river is where we take a small dip and help caregivers of elephants to give them their morning bath, they're incredible animals, swam to a 40-year-old elephant was doing everything he ordered his caregiver, enjoyed it a lot.
Our driver took us down a road less traveled to see lakes and rural landscapes that you see on the main road going to Munnar.
Following the road we stopped at a couple of waterfalls, take a very natural pineapple juice and know from where many of the spices in the country. They taught us pretty amazing things on the farm of spices, cocoa, cinnamon, pepper, curry, etc ... We also had the chance to see a huge plantations of trees from where the rubber makes a cut in the bark of the tree round and begins to secrete a white fluid is collected in a container made of coconut, then that liquid put it into molds where the rubber comes cooked and 100%, which manufactures all kinds of things.
The road makes its way uphill to the little more than 1500 meters high, is Munnar, the landscape is entirely of a tropical jungle, until now if you start seeing the first tea plantations. Having seen so many photos, the landscape still more surprising, since each curve begin to appear more and more hillside terraced plantations, is a landscape very different from what we had happen in the day.
There are about 15h when we reached Munnar, our driver decides to go to Top Station to see the sights directly, which we accept willingly, we are 34km but we did not know they were 2 hours more until that point. Anyway, the scenery is well worth, and can barely see the mountains, vast plantations of what you just about everything.
We parked the car and about 2300 meters high, and walked across all these fields to the Top Station, from which point you should see the grandeur of the place, there is some fog that prevents us from seeing what we could have seen but you can not have it all.
We find it down at night and arrived at the hotel for dinner, it was said and done, cenita and sleep, surrounded by tea plantations, a Secret Point by our driver, tomorrow morning we will open the curtain to see that view we are.
Good Night ***
09/02/10
Are at 6:40 and lets us see clearly through the window that we are at a considerable height above the town of Munnar, everything looks green plantations, there are only a couple more in the hotel, so we can say it's a Secret Point, our Wilson returns to work.
At 7 o'clock we started the trekking schedule, without breakfast because the hotel is that they're lazy, do some cool mornings, the sun begins to reveal the distance and the slopes begin to cause the first sweats . We go with our guide through the midst of plantations, caves teaches us, some other animal, but the prettiest is the perfection of the plants around you is like a green blanket that covers the entire mountain. The trekking takes about 2 hours of ascent, rising real, we must be about 300 or 400 feet above Munnar, the views are spectacular, the force that sunshine makes the pictures are not quite great, but have to come out well,
The decline is somewhat faster, but between the shower and waited we have breakfast at 11:30 h, 1 h later to go see the museum and tea factory, we have to wait until 14:30 pm which is when they return to give talks and video.
The driver offers a walk in the market of fruit and tea Munnar. The joins us and tells us a lot of fruits and vegetables rather different, Jack Fruit by example and many others which I do not remember the name but sure many of them have already gone through our stomachs, and food in India use all them, and we have tried almost everything. We bought red chillies, tea, pepper, cinnamon ...
We ask the driver before you go to the museum will lead to eating a Thali, succeeds in full with a local restaurant to normal at 40 inr Thali and especially 70, thumb sucking by 60 cents and 1 € €.
At 14:30 am on the point we are hearing the explanations of the transformation of leaf tea varieties in the words of an Indian which his English leaves much to be desired, the people we had, about 100 I think nobody you hear and half, some complex accent .... We begin to see the machine that makes the process, and this is where we begin to link some of the phrases we had managed to decipher from the mouth of the Indian. There are machines for everything.
From there we went to a movie of 30 min which explained the transformation of the area of Munnar from its beginnings to today, with the Tata Tee now as a major company in the area than there were watching the video, 80% yawned and 20% went to sleep, we were 80%, but India is part of the neck almost 15 times, what a way to sleep.
The Tata company has a number of different businesses difficult to enumerate, Cars that is why we know in Spain, trucks, buses, tea, water, digital television, mobile telephony, hotels and more that I can not remember, but it is impressive it seems that everything passes through the hands of this company.
I just bought and already we had the farewell of Munnar with women picking tea in the steep hillsides and a journey of about 4 hours to Wilson's house in Port kochi, again our headquarters until the next day we will undertake Wayanand trip to the National Park to be there 3 days and 2 nights.
Wilson arrived home, we showered, had dinner and we stick a few laughs talking about what we had seen and the animals that we would see in the national park.
Now it's rest than play marathon again tomorrow, at 6:10 am the alarm clock. ***
